| Along with everyone else, I can't believe I'm a father. Daddy's little girl: Beatrice!

| I hardly blog about my education at Regent. But I'm realizing more and more how important it is to share what I'm learning.
As many of you know, I worked as part of CCC staff for the past 4 years. One of my greatest joys has been mentoring students. I consider it a privilege to be a part of someone's spiritual journey and to share my journey with them. Often times, I would take walks on campus with students. We would share meals and pray together. Sometimes, we would just hang out. Other times, I would grieve alongside them when things weren't going well. I think mentoring is a lot like friendship.
This brings me to a my class, Supervised Ministry. This morning, Darrell Johnson spoke about mentorship. He asked the class how many students have been mentored by another. Shockingly, only half the students raised their hands. I believe this is one of the reasons for the lack of depth within our churches. Personally, I have been mentored by many different people over the years. I owe a great deal to these individuals and their patience with me. I have also been mentored through many peer relationships and authors.
Darrell's teaching today reminded me of Christ and how He invested in a few, but that ended up changing the world. Certainly, discipleship takes time and relationship, not a program or one specific bible study. One of the calls of the church is to present everyone mature in Christ.
I encourage you to think and meditate about people who have cared for and mentored you. Let this be inspiration to consider people you may yourself want to mentor. Or, let this be a challenge to seek a mentor to guide you in your own spiritual journey.
It is He (Jesus) whom we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching
everyone in all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in
Christ. For this I toil and struggle with all the energy he powerfully
inspires within me.

| Today was my first day working at Regent. I will be responsible for giving tours to prospective students, corresponding and sharing my experience with them. It's rather exciting. I view my job as an opportunity to serve individuals who want to learn more about God.
The only bad part is that the AC is broken and it smells bad in the office. I wore slacks for the first time in awhile and regretted it the entire day. Too late, I found out that Regent is so relaxed, there's no dress code for the staff. I can wear a tube top and nobody will care. Well, maybe they will.

| We're so excited that we're having a baby
girl. Often we will say hi and speak a few words to the baby. As
the baby kicks more everyday and sometimes even responds to our voices, the
wonderful feeling is setting in that we are going to be parents.
With new life is new hope. I believe that firmly. Each new life is
filled with promise and hope. This new life will affect our lives and
many others both positively and negatively. I am not sure what to expect
with this new child. I know that we are already in love with the baby
though. We often pray for the baby, especially that the baby will be
filled with the love of Christ. | | |
| We're expecting! The due date is in October. We'll find out whether the baby is a boy or girl in May. Lis is healthy and that's definitely a praise. It was crazy to hear from the doctor that I am going to be a father. I would use photoshop and meld our pictures together to figure out what the baby might look like but, that's quite a lot of work and photoshop isn't all that accurate.
Here's are some of the names that we've picked out for a boy or girl. You can pick which one you like best and which one goes best with Lam or come up with your own.
Boy Lambert Abraham
Girl Pam Mary Wayne
We're enjoying life in Vancouver so far. God is so good!
We miss NYC! We miss family, friends, and really good food!
Most likely, we will be visiting NYC in May.
